In an op-ed piece in Tuesday's Washington Post, Palin attacks the administration's so-called cap-and-trade plan that would allow industrial sources to buy and sell pollution permits. The plan, Palin writes, is "an enormous threat to our economy. It would undermine our recovery over the short term and would inflict permanent damage." She adds: "In addition to immediately increasing unemployment in the energy sector, even more American jobs will be threatened by the rising cost of doing business under the cap-and-tax plan."Instead, the former Republican vice presidential nominee says: "We are ripe for economic growth and energy independence if we responsibly tap the resources that God created right underfoot on American soil. Just as important, we have more desire and ability to protect the environment than any foreign nation from which we purchase energy today." [Source: Foxnews.com]I have only once in the last year and a half read something that woman said without emitting an exacerbated sigh.** Weird, a neocon that wants to drill for oil and fight against a higher environmental standard? Huh, I never thought I’d see the day. The only reason I posted this is because of an ongoing sense of fascination/disgust I feel over the fact that ANYONE CONSIDERS HER RELEVANT. A few weeks ago I joked that Paul Anka’s “Just don’t look” song from The Simpsons wouldn’t work in dealing with North Korea. It WILL work here. This woman is not a great political mind, she’s a power-hungry moron. Stop talking to her, stop talking about her and she will go away. She is simply a celebrity. Celebrities have to create themselves as brands and tirelessly promote them. If you don’t buy it, eventually she will fade away. Thus, from this moment, I will no longer talk about this woman.
*I should note that I’m considering relevance here as being based on the relevance of the medium – print journalism versus internet and television journalism – and not taking a shot at the Post itself, which I regularly read and encourage you to as well.
**Her comments about considering an abortion when she got the amniocentesis on her son was powerful and a rare moment of honesty from this lying, manipulative hussy.
